Commssion Chronicles: Crochet Flowers (2024)
Lily

I preferred to make a lily and found this video tutorial:

Orchid Bouquet
I made this bouquet of orchids (not a commission) for my mother-in-law to commemorate her late mother, Granny MAC. She was a maven with orchids; the flowers thrived under her care. So I wanted to honor her this way, with flowers that will not wither. May she rest in peace.
Although the tutorial itself is in Spanish, I got to utilize the translated caption function. And it worked well!
I gifted it to my dear MIL last October when we reunited in St. Louis, MO, for the memorial. And here we are at Aunt Lenora's home:
I loved every minute of engaging in this meaningful practice of commemorating someone through creating something beautiful, like I did with my beloved Simon's Rock College professor Wendy Shifrin in 2015, and then my college advisor Jan Hutchinson (to be shared soon).
